Bad Day!

Today was probably the worst day that I've had yet! I woke up at like 2 and I went straight to a meeting and then straight from the meeting to a memorial service at my church. At the meeting they had trays and trays FULL of cakes and cookies... it was only a matter of time before I lost it and had like FIVE of them. Then I had another on my way home :'(

On top of that I didn't get a chance to work out and I only ate a salad and two hard boiled eggs ;_;
We ran out of fruit so I didn't consume any fruit or any grains today. I had a slice of turkey in salad so I had a little protein.

I keep getting these thoughts that I should just quit and that I'm always going to be fat and when school starts I'm not going to be able to control myself. I keep lookinf for excuses like on New Years I was like 'Come on! It's NEW YEARS. No one would blame me if I just skipped today." And today at the memorial I was like 'It's a friggin memorial. I think I should be fine."

I just really don't want to give up this time. I want THIS to be the time where I actually was fully committed and it changed my life. And I could lose 100 pounds and I would get cast in to play and I could meet a boy and I could feel fit.

My mom thinks that the only way that I'm gonna lose weight is on the Atkins. So let me ask you guys: have you reaped benefits from exercising often and having a balanced diet? And not some special diet...

My Plate!

Okay. So finally things are CLEAR. I went to choosemyplate.gov and it made me a meal plan and I also mapped out my daily exercise.

Mean Plan: 2200 calories a day.
(Although I think I may do 2000)
Grain: 7 ounces
Veggies: 3 cups
Fruits: 2 cups
Dairy: 3 cups
Protein: 6 ounces
Oils: 6 teaspoons

And you can also plan your exercises for the week as well! So here's my exercise plan. (Dance is this dance aerobics DVD we've had for years but barely opened today)

Sunday-Church!
Monday: Walk-25mins
Tuesday: Skate-20mins
Wednesday: Dance-30mins
Thursday: Skate-20mins
Friday: Dance-30mins
Saturday: Walk-25mins

I got the more difficult, higher impact activities sandwiched in the middle. I'll be less reluctant to work out the first day of the week if I know it's just walking.

I was on pinterest browsing through all the cute clothes and I found motivation to keep going. I'm gonna look so cute in those clothes when I get down to a size 10!

Inspiration: A second on the lips, an eternity on the hips. Are you really gonna let FOOD stop you from fitting into those cute jeans? Overcome the first 3 weeks and the rest of it will just be habit!

Hitting A Wall

I'm getting to the point where I'm so sick of this food that I'd rather not eat than eat healthy -_-

I did exercise lightly today though! I popped in a dance aerobics DVD and did it for about 20ish minutes. I kinda felt like it was a cheating exercise because I wasn't running and I wasn't exhausted after but it's a start. I would like to start rollerblading again.

Today I had a banana, a pear, 2 egg sandwiches on whole grain, some raw cashews, and a salad with onions, tomatoes, avocado, and ranch dressing.

Probably shouldn't have had the bread but I was so hungry.

So I definitely need some more recipes. Because I am getting tired of this food. I wonder when in going roster shedding these pounds??

What are some exercises that you guys have been doing?

Week Two and a Half

I know what you're thinking: dang this girl posts too much... And you're probably right. BUT, I really wanted to post tonight because today is what I would consider a SUCCESS. You guys must have said some holy prayers for me, lol.

I did get up kind of late and skipped lunch, but I had a banana for breakfast.

Then after work I came home an munched on raw celery and carrots. Then I for dinner I went to Fry's and picked up up some lettuce and an onion for a salad and then a box of strawberries for dessert.

Salad: lettuce, cheese, olives, tomatoes, and onions. I had one bowl with a little ranch and another bowl with caesar dressing.

Questions: Is caesar or ranch dressing good for you? If not what is a healthier alternative.

Inspiration: I don't really have a whole lot of inspirations for you today. But what inspire me for today was a dream I had last night about some guy proposing to me. There were two situations where we were trying to have fun like dancing and I forgot the other, but my weight made it difficult. So one reason why I want to lose weight is so I can do fun activities with my future fiancé without my weight being an issue.

Week Two

This is the first time I'm updating y blog via iPod so bare with me. I apologise for the future spelling/grammatical errors.

ANYWHO; week two.

Uhg! I feel like I'm letting you all down but my first couple of weeks have been awful! I went out of town and it turns out that the cheapest option of cuisine is not the healthy kind.

I did well at cutting out soda, red meat, and sweets before my trip but during my trip and on Christmas and these past two days I've been bad.

I hope you're not using me as a motivation to keep you going because this is going to take awhile for me personally to get on track. I have a past of many failed attempts of the whole exercise and diet thing.

But I have promised myself not to quit no matter how many times I fail. I'm gonna put a lot of effort into it. The problem is that when I come face-to-face with actually having to choose if I should eat it or not I get this overwhelming notion of: I just don't care. I wish I could care as much in the moment as I do when I feel so fat! Anyways, I'm praying for all of you who are reading and those of you on your own journey to get healthy! I hope your efforts have been better than mine! (Please feel free to share what your goals are and the diet/exercise plan you're on!)

Prayer request: Please pray that God would teach me how to control my urges and habits, not just in my diet but my life in general. This is the number one thing I need work on!
Pray that He'll give me opportunities and open doors that will help push me toward a healthy me.

Inspiration: I remember asking a good friend of mine what he did when he felt like he wanted to quit and he reminded me of this TobyMac song called 'Get Back Up'. Just like the song, he told me that we get knocked down so many times. If we never tried to get back up again we would constantly be on the ground. If we were to stay down when we felt weak it would make all the other attempts almost useless. So if it doesn't come to you the first couple of tries, or even the first dozen! just get back up and try again. There's a reason God doesn't just give us exactly what we want. We benefit so much more from achieving something we worked hard for than things that were handed to us.
Here's the song: http://youtu.be/sOBer-hHu9I

Good luck!

Day One

Okay, so first day: not so good. We don't have a whole lot of fruits or salad food in the house. We stocked up for a family dinner a few days ago that consisted of enchiladas, tacos, rice, and beans. So not a whole lot of health options.

I had some lettuce and tomatoes with dressing from breakfast, my mom ordered pizza for lunch, and around 8ish my friends and I stopped at a candy store and I had a few pieces of candy :S

So I think what I need to do is make a list of things that I should have my mom buy for my new lifestyle. I'm guessing lots of fruits ans veggies. I was also hoping to start eating vegan/vegetarian food.

If you have any suggestions for healthy/tasty foods, please let me know!

Inspiration thoughts: Once Satan realizes that you've decided to make a change in your life for the better, he'll do everything that he can to prevent and discourage you. So this first month is going to be very difficult. In times of weakness, look to God to be your rock and your guide. This type of lifestyle change won't only improve your health, but your personal self control and your relationship with God. If you want, you can also call/text me to help lift you up : 602.799.8943

Foods to buy:
Carrots, apples, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, corn, beans, nuts, celery, strawberries.. that's about all I have :P Please leave more suggestions! More fruits/veggies or maybe some kind of vegan/vegetarian soup, or recipes would be great!
